Students encouraged to submit entries to New England Undergraduate Computing Symposium

The committee of New England Computer Science Chairs (NECSC) and the Empowering Leadership Alliance (EL Alliance) invite all undergraduates in colleges or universities in New England to participate in the second New England Undergraduate Computing Symposium.

The symposium celebrates "Excellence and Diversity in Undergraduate level Computer Science in New England." Submissions from all disciplines engaged in computing are encouraged i.e. computational biology, computational physics, anthropology using virtual worlds, etc.

Poster Presentations

Students submit a 250-word abstract describing a course or a research project they have contributed to over the past year. Group projects are welcome, as long as the presenting group member is an undergraduate. Submissions can be made at this link. Deadline for submissions is April 3rd. Submissions after April 3rd will be accepted as room allows.

Student Oral Presentations

A subset of submitted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.

  • Most creative course project from an introductory course
  • Most creative course project from an upper level course
  • Most creative research project
  • Most creative independent project
  • Project most likely to have a positive impact on society
