The department offers graduate-level certificates in
computer science and
human-computer interaction. The certificates are
offered on a part-time, non-degree basis for students seeking professional
training in these fields. In most cases, courses taken in a certificate
program can be transferred into a graduate degree program.
Part-time Certificates and Programs in Computer Science
Certificate in Computer Science
This program is suitable for applicants who already hold an undergraduate
degree in Computer Science or closely related field. It gives individuals
an opportunity to sample from advanced topics in the field without
committing to a full length degree program. For more information see:
Certificate

Note that the certificates are offered on a part-time, non-degree basis for
students seeking professional training. In most cases, courses taken in a
certificate program can be transferred into a graduate degree program.
Certificate in Human-Computer Interaction
This is an inter-disciplinary program supported by several departments. The
program is open to individuals with a bachelor's degree and is especially
useful for computer programmers, web designers, software engineers, human
factors professionals, user interface designers, and others who wish to
develop or enhance their user interface design and implementation skills.
For more information see:

Note that the certificates are offered on a part-time, non-degree basis for
students seeking professional training. In most cases, courses taken in a
certificate program can be transferred into a graduate degree program.
Post-Baccalaureate Minor Program in Computer Science
The program is suitable for applicants with at least a bachelor's degree in
any discipline (BA or BS), and one college-level introductory computer
course*, preferably C or C++. The degree provides a rigorous program of
study, equivalent to a "minor" program in computer science. It is well
suited as a first step for individuals with aptitude for the subject who
are looking for a career change.
