Phone:
(617) 627-3651 (x73651 on campus)
(home) (781) 395-7743 I don't mind being called at home as long as you:
- 1) Try my office first - I keep very irregular hours.
- 2) Don't call before 9 AM or after 10 PM.
- 3) Use Email or leave a message on my office phone if it's not urgent.
You can leave a message at either number. Please suggest a time and phone
number that I can return your call.
Exams:
There will no exams.
Grading:
The course will be graded on the basis of (usually weekly)
assignments. Most of the grading will be done by the automatic
grader, but there may be occasional style or efficiency points assigned
by hand. There will also be written assignments due in class.
Collaboration:
On homework exercises collaboration is allowed at the level of
discussing ideas, but credit must be given to the other parties whether you
gave or received help. A simple statement on the homework sheet, such as
"I helped Don Knuth on problem 1." or "Alan Turing helped me with part c
of problem 2." or "Grace Murray Hopper and I discussed the design of
COBOL." will suffice. Copying or working out the details of assignments
collaboratively is not allowed. Collaboration on exams is absolutely
prohibited. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in severe
disciplinary action for all parties involved. See The Pachyderm and the
booklet "Honesty is..." available from the Dean of Students' Office.
Late policy:
Assignments are to be handed in at class unless otherwise noted.
Approximately 20% per day late will be deducted unless some other
arrangement is agreed to before the due date.
