This course is intended for seniors in computer science who have successfully completed Software Engineering (COMP180) and, with additional requirements, is also appropriate for master's students to fulfill the project requirement of their degree. If you are not a senior at Tufts please see Prof. Stafford.
The primary objectives of this course are to provide you with experience in the software design process from project requirements elicitation to project delivery and also to give you an opportunity to work closely in areas in which you may be interested in working in the future.
This is a project course. You will work in teams to create a project that has been commissioned by a person or organization outside of the course. Each class meeting will be a combination of presentations, group discussion, and team meetings. There will be a 15 minute break at or about 7:30 PM each week.
Projects will be graded based on the instructors' assessment of the quality of the documentation and degree of completion and quality of the code, and reported satisfaction of your commissioner. Each project will be graded and then individual grades will be adjusted based on a Team Member Assessment Score that will be calculated based on team member assessment of each of their team members at the end of the semester.
Up-to-date information and announcements will be made available via e-mail make sure that I have your preferred email address included in the class alias list. In addition, some materials will be available on the course home page so be sure to check there regularly.
