COMP 50-02 Introduction to Game Development

Video game development is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative endeavor. In this course students from a range of interests across liberal arts and engineering will work in teams to create a video game. Students who have completed COMP15 and wish to earn computer science credit for this course should register for COMP50-GD; all others should register for EXP32. Students registering for COMP50-GD are expected to make a major technical contribution to the team using computer science skills in areas such as Computer Graphics, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms, Data Structures, Networking, and Human-Computer Interaction. Topics covered in this course include: Game Design, The Game Engine, Sound, Rendering, 2 and 3D Graphics, Basic Game Physics and AI, Sprites, and Animation.
