Abstract

We present a novel workflow for functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) based implicit Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) toward the goal of developing more realistic interfaces that can deployed for home/office use. To that end, we developed and tested a prototype of a brain-based indexing system for assisted information retrieval. Our work focuses on two primary areas of development: a high-level long term vision for the future of fNIRS-based implicit BCI, and an adjustment to common methods for data collection used in the field toward that goal. The talk will focus on these two developments, the study we performed.
