Special Seminar in Computer Graphics: The Challenges of 'The Incredibles'

Abstract

In 2004 Pixar Animation Studios completed production on their biggest challenge to date, "The Incredibles". Pixar's Danielle Feinberg will talk about the myriad of hurdles they had to overcome to bring this superhero world to the big screen. How to do you populate a world with appealing humans without growing old and gray or breaking the bank? What do you do when a superhero's bicep just won't stay in his supersuit? What happens when the renderer simply refuses to produce a frame with hundreds of humans in it? These topics and more will be discussed, including some rarely seen bloopers from the movie.
