Abstract

Art Papas will talk about co-founding and building Bullhorn, Inc, a 200 person software company servicing the recruiting industry. He'll talk about the challenges the company faced as its software systems scaled to support 5,000 customers and over a billion transactions per month. Art will highlight two lessons he learned in the Tufts CS department have been critical to helping the company overcome numerous obstacles over the years.

Bio: Art Papas is the co-Founder and CEO of Bullhorn, Inc. Art has led Bullhorn through $34 million in venture fundraising and ten consecutive years of user growth. Today, 55,000 recruiters from 5,000 firms rely on Bullhorn software to hire people for more than one million job openings every year. Art sits on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Staffing Association, Portfolio Science Inc. and the HR.COM Online Staffing and Sourcing Advisory Board. He also serves as an Advisory Board member to Youth Villages, a Boston Based non-profit focused on helping young adults aging out of foster care.

Prior to starting Bullhorn, Art developed software for Thomson Reuters, where he co-designed and built First Call Insight. Art is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of Tufts University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
