This course is taught through the Gordon Institute as a part of the Master of Science program in Engineering Management (MSEM). In this course, students will study cutting edge software practitioners with an understanding of cutting edge software engineering techniques and best practices so as to allow them to manage software projects with confidence that the right software will be delivered on time and within budget. Students will be introduced to modern trends in software engineering practice in the areas of process improvement, requirements elicitation, software architecture, software management, and software evaluation. Students will leave the course armed with knowledge of which practices are best utilized under specific circumstances and will be armed with resources to assist them in gaining a deeper understanding of how to implement practices when needed in their daily work.
