Research
I work primarily at the intersection of distributed, especially robotic, systems and reinforcement learning. I'm interested in distributed algorithms for decision-making, learning, and collective behavior.
Please go to my Research page at MIT CSAIL for more details of my PhD research.
Student projects
In the Spring of 2009, I advised CS junior Sarah Keefe on her Comp194-14 Directed Study in Robotics. She built and programmed a robot to circumnavigate and map an unknown convex object.
In the Fall of 2008 and Spring 2009, I advised CS senior Ilana Marcus on her CUSP research project in robotics. Sarah used a Central Pattern Generator (CPG) model of rhythmic motion control to program repetitive movements of a robot she built with Bioloid parts.
