Biography
Since September 2009, I have been a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tufts University.
From May through September 2009, I was a post-doctoral researcher with Frédo Durand in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I completed my Ph.D. (2009) and M.S. (2005) with Frédo in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and received a B.S. in Computer Engineering (2002) from the University of Washington.
My research lies at the intersection of computer graphics and human computer interaction. I am interested in developing interaction techniques to support user productivity and creativity. In my thesis work, I proposed methods for using operation history to improve the user experience and demonstrated these in the context of visual authoring. (See a list of publications.)
Teaching
This semester I am teaching Computer Graphics and Exploring Computer Science. In Spring 2010, I will be teaching a new course on Visualization. Please see the course outline linked below and email me if interested!
- COMP150-04: Visualization (Spring 2010)
- EN47/COMP9: Exploring Computer Science (Fall 2009, Spring 2010)
- COMP175: Computer Graphics (Fall 2009)
- Introduction to Computer Science, for MIT's Women's Technology Program (Summer 2006)
