Computer Science 12 - Introduction to Computing

From the 1974-75 Bulletin:
A fundamental course in the use of computers. Emphasis will be on learning a computer language, such as FORTRAN, and on its use as illustrated by examples from the humanities, social sciences, arts, natural sciences, and technology. Topics will include writing and debugging programs, monitor and time-sharing systems, and computer application to both numerical (e.g. drawn from statistics) and non-numerical (e.g. game playing and model simulation) problems. Each student will be required to complete a project in the area of his choice. Engineering Science 2 and Computer Science 12 may not both be taken for credit.
