Nancy Lynch was Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Tufts in 1972-73. Her PhD dissertation at MIT was on "Relativization of the Theory of Computational Complexity". After serving on the faculty of several other universities she retuned to MIT in 1982, where she is the NEC Professor of Software Science and Engineering. She won the ACM-IEEE Knuth Prize "for seminal and influential contributions to the theory of distributed computing" in 2007.
