Introduction to data structures, and methods of operating on data structures. Topics include: records, files, linear lists, circular lists, arrays and orthogonal lists; representation of trees; storage allocation and collection; symbol tables and searching; sorting techniques; characteristics of information storage media. Assignments will be programmed on the computer. Prerequisite: Engineering Science 15 or equivalent.
