How to read research papers
Summary template for research papers
Please use the following template for you summaries. Your summaries should be about 1/2 to 3/4th pages long at most.
- What problem is this paper trying to address?
- What about the technical solution presented did you like the most? Why?
- What about the technical solution presented did you not like? Why?
- List one question about the paper you'd like answered during class. The question should be technical in nature ---e.g., about the motivation, approach, or how the work was evaluated.
Summary template for regular papers
Please use the following template for summaries of textbook readings or other articles that are not research papers.
- Sumarize the reading in 1/2 page
- List one technical question about the paper
